Christian Devotional – March 15, 2013

VERSE:

2 Chronicles 14:11–Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said, “Lord, there is no one like You to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, Lord our God, for we rely on You, and in Your name we have come against this vast army. Lord, You are our God; do not let mere mortals prevail against You.”

TRUTH:

What a beautiful prayer of faith, trust and complete dependence on God. Asa knew that if God didn’t help them in their time of need, then they would surely be destroyed. Do we come before God knowing that if He doesn’t do something then we will be destroyed? Are we trusting God to fight our battles for us?

RESPONSE:

Father, I know there is no one like You to help the weak against the strong. Help me God because I rely on You and in Your name I come against the vast number of forces that try to bring me down. You are God, do not let these mere mortals prevail against You.
