Christian Devotional – March 17, 2016
VERSE:
Joshua 14:12–Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but the Lord helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.
TRUTH:
“Do you see that really large, difficult, overwhelming problem over there? That’s what I want. Give that area to me!” Essentially, that’s exactly what Caleb said when he made this statement to Joshua. Caleb had trusted God to see Him through, even when almost no one else believed him and even when his entire country disagreed with him and caused him to wait an additional 40 years in the desert. Caleb knew that He could trust God through the difficult challenges that he faced and as a result, Caleb was willing to take on the biggest military challenge that the people faced in their conquest of the promised land. Are we willing to tackle the biggest challenges with God’s leadership and direction? Or, are we busy asking God to give us the easy, safe path? If we are following God, we will be successful, no matter what the outcome looks like.
RESPONSE:
Father, Thank You for the difficult challenges that You allow to come my way so that together You and I can overcome them for Your glory. Lead me to the exact path You have for me, even if its a difficult path because I know that through You, I will always be exactly where I am supposed to be, doing exactly what You want me to do!
