VERSE:
Joshua 23:6–Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without tuning aside to the right or to the left.
TRUTH:
So many times when Joshua took over for Moses did God remind him of this phrase. As we look back at the beginning of the book, we find the phrase “Be strong” over and over again as God was giving direction to Joshua. Now, as Joshua is giving his final speech to the people, he tells them the very thing. We’ll find that the direction that God gives to us is often the very same words that people around need to hear as well. In this case, these words can also apply directly to us. Will we be strong in all that the Lord has for us? Will we love God and obey Him carefully and diligently, without turning to the right or to the left? Will we be strong?
RESPONSE:
Father, I desire to be strong in the way that You define strength. I know that You will give me strength to do everything that You have asked of me and all that You desire from me. Keep me focused only on You so that I can do everything while being solely focused on You.
