Gentleness. It’s one of the fruit of the Spirit that Paul discusses in Galatians. Here, Paul touches on it right after telling the people that they should be having joy and rejoicing in the Lord. Joy and gentleness go together. Not only are they both fruits of the Spirit, but as we have joy in the Lord it changes our attitude and our response to the situations we encounter.

We can have gentleness and peace and love and kindness and all the other fruit of the Spirit as we are rejoicing in the Lord. People should know and see and recognize the gentleness in our spirit. How do people know us? What do they know as for? Is our gentleness known to all men?
