Christian Devotional – March 31, 2019

Preparation. Naomi has taken the time to think and to wait on God and now the time has come to act. She pulls Ruth aside and starts to share. Read Ruth 3:2.

Now is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maids you were? Behold, he winnows barley at the threshing floor tonight.

Now, obviously Naomi wasn’t just sitting around doing nothing this whole time. She had learned the pattern and rhythm of what was going on. She knew that Boaz would be working tonight. And now she reveals to Ruth the fact that he is a close relative and what that means.

As we are waiting on God, are we stagnant or are we continuing to grow and learn? Do we seek to move ourselves forward, or are we lazy? God knows that we need to grow in Him more and more every day. Are we recognizing the plans and works that God has for us and are we doing them?
