Corinthians, Day 29
Constantly examining. As we reached the final chapter of the 2nd letter Paul wrote to the Corinthians, we see his final words to the people. Read 2 Corinthians 13.
Paul remind them of his own authority to guide and direct them, but he tells them that they are responsible for examining themselves. It is their responsibility to look into their own life and see it as God would see it. They need to test themselves. They need to be critical of themselves. Only as they are honest with themselves about how they are doing will they be able to grow and to follow Christ more.
Where would we be at? When we sit down and we examine our lives next to the example of Jesus Christ, where do we fall? If we seek to know and understand more about Christ every day, part of that is understanding where we are missing the mark so that we can repent and surrender that area afresh.
Are will actively seeking each day to surrender more areas of our life to the control of God and the Holy Spirit? Are we honest about how Christ is able to move or not to move in our life each day? We will only see new repentance, fresh mercy, increased obedience, and more victories in our lives as we are willing to honestly assess the areas that need to be brought under submission to God. Where are you at in testing yourself today?
