A Prayer for You, Day 3

A Prayer to share the message of Christ. Read Philippians chapter 1, focusing on verses 12-18.
Paul could see the reason that God had allowed him to be imprisoned. The message of Christ was spreading so fast through so many areas and groups of people that never would have heard the message had it not been for the fact that Paul was in prison. Paul rejoiced in this, but Paul also recognized that some people were trying to capitalize on this fame opportunity for selfish reasons.
Paul made the choice not to get distracted by the little things, but to rejoice in the overall fact that the message of Christ was being shared. Paul’s prayer for the people is that they would continue to share with everyone about Christ, for that was the reason he was in chains in the first place. Paul knew that his being imprisoned would allow others to actually be more bold in sharing.
Sometimes we can get caught up in the little things and be distracted by issues and concerns that don’t matter as much. Paul chose to recognize that the gospel of Christ was being preached, and that was the goal. He chose not to get hung up on the selfish ambitions of some people knowing that God would sort that out in his way at his time.
We need to stay focused on the essentials of the message of Christ. Do we pray for others to share the gospel? Are we encouraging each other to share the gospel message? The world needs to hear the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and that is our responsibility to share it. How can we pray for ourselves, and for others, keeping our focus on that main goal and not being distracted by any other little things around us.
