A Prayer for You, Day 4

Prayer for the best. Read Philippians chapter 1, focusing on verses 19-26.

Paul knew that his ministry to the people of Philippi was super important. He understood the impact that he had on the people and the witness that he was making to the Romans. In that day and time, he had been through an awful lot of things. Yet Paul understood that as much as he was looking forward to seeing heaven and being with Jesus, his time was not finished yet, and he was needed there to be a witness.

Paul recognized that dying is not the end. When we pray, are we praying to avoid death? Or do we recognize there is a right time that God has for us to be able to transition from our life here on earth to our time with him in heaven. Death is not the end. There are so many people that I have in heaven, that I miss terribly and yet, I know that they are in a better place. I am rejoicing with them, knowing that I will see them again.

Our prayers for each other can echo Paul’s, knowing that we can be excited about being here, and we can be excited about being in heaven.
