Christian Devotional – May 15, 2019

Connection. Paul had a connection with Timothy and he wanted to remind Timothy of that. The last few days we have discussed the criteria Paul is giving for leadership. Now, we see Paul reminding Timothy of one of the most important pieces of ministry and service, relationships. Read 1 Timothy 3:14-15.

I am writing these things to you, hoping to come to you before long; but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.

There is sincere desire and hope for an opportunity to see Timothy. Paul wants that relationship, even with knowing that he must share truth. Timothy is important to Paul and Paul wants him to know that.

Do we emphasize relationships in all that we do? Do we serve people and help them to see their value, both to God and to us? Paul gives a great example of how to do that and as leaders, we must work to follow his example.
