A Prayer for You, Day 5

Conduct and unity. Read Philippians chapter 1, focusing on verses 27-30.
Paul understood the importance of standing together and standing for what matters. Paul had been imprisoned and was going through such challenges and difficulties because of his faith in Jesus Christ. Paul knew that the only way the people of Philippi could continue to support him is if they are standing firm together. Paul also recognized that there would come a point when he would be killed for his faith. He saw that was coming, and he wanted the believers to realize they needed to conduct themselves in a manner that was representative of their relationship with Jesus Christ.
In a situation like this, it’s interesting to know what to pray for. Paul was praying that the believers would continue to be a witness. Even after Paul himself was gone, they needed to conduct themselves as believers and they needed to be unified as believers. Our conduct is a demonstration of our unity. As believers in Jesus Christ, we have a responsibility to conduct ourselves in the same way that Paul was encouraging the people of Philippi to conduct themselves. We need to be walking in a manner worthy of the Lord. As we do that, we will be unified in purpose.
Does our conduct every day match Jesus Christ? Are we unified in our desire to see Christ be more in our lives every day?
