The Roman Road, Day 4

Step 4: Personal Decision. Read Romans 10:9.

We all have to face that moment. We can watch and study and learn all we want, but no matter what we have spent our time and energy learning, there will always come a moment when we have to take the step and take action ourselves. On the Roman Road we’ve been studying, today is that day. We may have heard who God is. We may have understood that we were sinners. We may even know the story of God’s love for us, but each and every one of us must come to the place where we make a decision that God is going to be our God. We must make the decision that we believe what He has said and that we will declare our allegiance to Him, and Him alone.

I’ve known a lot of people who have been around church and who hang out with Christian people. They know all the right words to say and the follow all the traditions. But, they’ve never make an actual, personal decision to put Jesus Christ in the center of their life and seek to follow Him. Today’s step details the importance of making that personal decision and taking that step. The information from the past 3 days is critical, but today is the day where our lives change. Without this personal step, the knowledge we shared in the previous three days doesn’t truly make a difference in our lives. Today, with this commitment is when we begin to experience all that God has for us.
