Christian Devotional – May 2, 2019

What does God want? We often spend a lot of time thinking about what we want and how we want it. However, we don’t always spend as much time considering what God wants. Read 1 Timothy 2:3-4.

This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Yesterday we saw that God desires that we pray for people. We should pray for those in authority and all those around us that they may come to know and understand how much Jesus Christ loves them and that he died for them. Why should we do that? Because God wants everyone to have an opportunity to accept him as Savior and Lord. That is what God desires. He desires to see people come to know the truth.

What do we desire? Do our desires line up with what God desires? As we are going through the day, we will see lots of opportunity to share the message of the good news of Jesus Christ and his saving grace. However, if we do not desire the same things that God desires then we will not seek out those opportunities or share that good news when we have the moment. Our desires must match God’s desires.
