Christian Devotional – May 23, 2014

Read 1 John chapter 1

VERSE:

1 John 1:7–But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son, purifies us from all sin.

TRUTH:

God is light and we are to walk each day in the light. That’s where He is, so that’s where we are to be. When we are in the light, walking and being obedient to God, then we experience two things: fellowship and purification. Through Christ, we experience true fellowship with each other and we are purified from our sins. Do we feel alone or are we consumed by our sins? God is the answer and we are to walk with Him in the light of truth.

RESPONSE:

Father, the darkness is lies and deception. However, the light is truth, fellowship, and freedom from sin. I will join You in the light today. The blood of Jesus purifies me and makes me clean from sin so that I may enjoy fellowship with You and with others who follow You.
