Christian Devotional – May 23, 2015

Read Psalm chapter 123

VERSE:

Psalm 123:3–Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt.

TRUTH:

The Christian life is difficult and there are plenty of times when we are ridiculed or put down because of our relationships with God. However, those others are not the people that we are to be pleasing to; we are to be pleasing to God. He is the One who is able to have mercy on us and as a result, we should be much more concerned with what He thinks of us. Are we enduing contempt from others today? We can ask Him for the mercy to deal with it.

RESPONSE:

Father, I praise You and I desire that You would be the One in my life that I look to and who builds me up and lifts me up. I need Your mercy today and every day.
