Christian Devotional – May 27, 2014

Read 1 John chapter 2

VERSE:

1 John 2:1–My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father–Jesus Christ the Righteous One.

TRUTH:

Since we’ve already established that we are all sinners in previous verses, it is such great news to know that we have an advocate. Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, has bridged the gap between our sin and God’s holiness. He stands in the middle as an intermediary who loves us and desires to see us restored. He acts on our behalf. Have we sought out our advocate? Jesus Christ is always there for us.

RESPONSE:

Father, You have made a way for me, a sinner, to have access to You, the Holy One. Jesus Christ is my advocate and He stands up for me. Thank You for standing up on my behalf!
