Christian Devotional – May 9, 2015

Read Psalm chapter 109

VERSE:

Psalm 109:1-2 My God, whom I praise, do not remain silent, for people who are wicked and deceitful have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues.

TRUTH:

When we are confronted with people who begin speaking lies and horrible things about us, how do we respond? Do we work confront them? Argue and complain about them? The psalmist experienced this difficulty of having people speak against him and his response was to praise God and then implore God to take care of the issue. Are we willing to leave our concerns and difficulties up to God? Will we allow God to fight our battles for us?

RESPONSE:

Father, I try to take back and fight so many of my own battles, but I can’t. I know that only You are able to fight the battles that I encounter. I will allow You to be the one to take care of me. I will trust in You.
