Pageant Queen with a Purpose, #14
“I need help!” Esther realized that she could not do this herself. Read Esther 4:15-17.
Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, “Go, assemble all the Jews who are found in Susa, and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maidens also will fast in the same way. And thus I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish.” So Mordecai went away and did just as Esther had commanded him.

Mordecai had reminded her of her responsibility, and Esther took that seriously. However, she knew that she would not be able to be successful on her own. She needed help. So, she asked Mordecai to have all the Jews pray with her and for her. At the same time, she would have all of her court pray with her and for her. Then, at the end of 3 days she when per her life into God’s hands and allow the king to decide her fate.
She knew that what she was doing was more important than anything she would ever end up doing at any other point in her life. And it was scary! Still, she was willing to put aside her fear and follow her faith knowing that God had this planned for her. What are we willing to do through our faith? Do we understand just how important the things of God are in our lives?
God has a plan for us and we have a purpose. There is no doubt in that! However, that purpose will probably be scary and difficult and we have to decide if we will have the courage to do it. We will need the help and support of those around us who want to see us glorify God. Who are our support partners? Who is willing to pray with us when we need their help? Esther had hers, who are yours?
