Read Job chapter 6
VERSE:
Job 6:2–“If only my anguish could be weighed and all my misery be placed on the scales.”
TRUTH:
“It’s not fair!” That’s basically what Job is saying. As he’s looking at his life, he sees all the actions and circumstances that he is going through and it just doesn’t feel fair. Actually, he’s correct, it’s not fair. However, it has purpose. Even when we go through the darkest and most unfortunate of circumstances, we can still continue to praise God and to give Him glory. Life is not fair, but God is just. Life is not fair, but God is faithful. Life is not fair, but God is in control. Will we trust in Him?
RESPONSE:
Father, I need to remember that You did not promise me a fair life. You didn’t promise me that everything would always be great in all my circumstances. However, You promised that You would never leave me or forsake me. I know that You are working out everything and I will not focus on whether my circumstances today are fair, but only on how You can receive the glory through them.
