Christian Devotional – November 20, 2014

Read Matthew chapter 16

VERSE:

Matthew 16:25–For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.

TRUTH:

It seems counterintuitive, yet Jesus here explains that in order to find true life, we must be willing to lose our lives for Christ’s sake. Often the things we try to hang on to the most are the very things that seem to slip through our grasp. However, if we are holding on to Jesus and all that He promises us, then we will see that we will lose our old life along with our preconceived notions of what life will be like. However, we will truly find Jesus and see how He is more and provides more abundantly than anything we could have imagined.

RESPONSE:

Father, You are the One I desire more than anything. I will seek You and if I lose my life for You, that’s OK. All I want is to find You and seek after You.
