Read Job chapter 17
VERSE:
Job 17:9–Nevertheless, the righteous will hold to their ways, and those with clean hands will grow stronger.
TRUTH:
Persistence, tenacity, endurance. All of these words describe the idea that Job indicates here. Those people who are seeking righteousness and striving for obedience to God, they will hold on, even in the midst of persecution and trials. There are numerous difficulties and problems that will come our way, especially if we are living a life of obedience to Jesus Christ. Even with that, we must make the decision that we will hold on to this and keep going, even when we are feeling overwhelmed and buried by all that is going on around us. Will we be persistent?
RESPONSE:
Father, even in the midst of the difficult times and the hardships, I know that You are the One who gives me strength to continue on. Keep me focused only on You, not the hardship and trial. I know that Satan is trying to distract me to all the difficulties that I am facing, but I don’t want to see them, only You. You are bigger than anything that Satan can throw my way, so keep me focused solely on You today.
