30 Days of Thanksgiving, Day 4

What do you worry about? Reading through day 4 of the 30 days of Thanksgiving reading plan on YouVersion.com we find ourselves in Philippines 4:6.

I’ve always liked the fact that this verse assumes that we will be anxious and worry. God knows us. God knows that we will have things that we are concerned about and worried about. Because of that, he tells us that we don’t need to worry and then he tells us why. We can be thankful instead. We can bring our concerns to him. God loves us and he knows us and he recognizes that while we may be worried and anxious at times, we don’t have to be. We can be thankful to God for everything that we are going through and we can bring our concerns to him just like we would bring them to a caring and loving father.

Today, I am so thankful for my heavenly father who knows me and loves me and cares for my burdens, and I am also thankful for my earthly father, the amazing man who raised me and demonstrated Christ’s love to me.
