Christian Devotional – October 10, 2016

Read Daniel chapter 4

VERSE:

Daniel 4:2–It is my pleasure to tell you about the miraculous signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed for me.

TRUTH:

The king uses this chapter to write a letter detailing all that God has done for Him. The interesting thing is his opening here where he explains that it is his pleasure to tell of what God has done. Then, when he goes on to describe his vision of being a mighty tree in a field, God takes him and humbles him and makes him do things that many of us would consider embarrassing. Yet, for the king, he explains that it is his pleasure. Are we willing to share our testimony of how God has brought us through our own areas of stupidity? When we have fallen and God saves us, are we as eager to share that story as when we are cast in a more positive light? We must come to the place where we rejoice and share the miracles of God through all He has done for us, regardless of how it may make us look, because God is still worthy of praise. What are we sharing, with great pleasure, today?

RESPONSE:

Father, it is hard to share stories where I have done things that are wrong and stupid. I know that is prideful and I pray that You will forgive me and teach me how to humble myself before You so that I may see You in every situation and help others to see You in every situation as well. It doesn’t matter how people see me, as long as they see You.
