Christian Devotional – October 16, 2019

If you knew you were going to be treated the way you had treated others up to this point, would you be happy or upset about that? The people of Edom were faced with that very question. Read Obadiah 1:15.

“For the day of the Lord draws near on all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head.

How have we treated other people? When it comes time for God to review and to judge, He often allows people to experience the very things that they have been doing to others. All of our sin has been done against a holy God, but often our sin is also against other people.

As God looks at judgment for the things that the people of Edom have done, He looks at repaying them for the actions and the way they had treated others. If that’s how God is going to judge us, what would that look like? Are we treating other people the way God would treat them?
