Christian Devotional – October 17, 2014

Read 2 Samuel chapter 24

VERSE:

2 Samuel 24:24–But the king replied to Araunah, “No I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them.

TRUTH:

What so we bring to God? Are we giving Him our leftovers, our second-hands, and our borrowed things? Or, do we present to God our very best? God is worthy of our best and David knew that part of offering a sacrifice, was the sacrifice part. Are we willing to sacrifice something to be able to bring God our best? What will it cost us and what are we willing to pay?

RESPONSE:

Father, You are worthy of my very best and Lord, I will offer You all I have. You own everything I have anyway, please direct me on how to use it to best glorify You today. No matter what the cost, You are worth it.
