The Weeping Prophet, Day 2

We become what we spend our time following. Read Jeremiah chapter 2.

As we see God sharing with Jeremiah, we understand better the state of the country. This very puts it very bluntly. The people have been following worthless things and as a result they have become worthless themselves.

We will become whatever we are seeking after. If we are seeking money, we become greedy. If we seek recognition, we become dependent on others. These people were seeking something worthless and as a result became worthless themselves.

What are we seeking after? Is God our focus and desire? If we want to become more like Christ then we must be seeking him.
