Christian Devotional – September 10, 2014

Read 1 Corinthians chapter 3

VERSE:

1 Corinthians 3:3–You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?

TRUTH:

Do we act like the world acts or like Christ acts? Paul indicates in this verse that those believers were still acting and responding like the world, like “mere humans.” What do worldly responses look like? Jealousy and quarreling. Do we easily get jealous or argue with others? We are called to follow Christ and to imitate Him. If we are busy arguing and fussing with each other we will miss what God has for us to be doing daily.

RESPONSE:

Father, show me ways in which I am still worldly so that I may confess those to You. I desire to follow You in all ways. I do not want to miss what You are doing because I am not focused on the things of You!
