New Beginnings, Day 11

God-imposed new beginning. Read Genesis chapter 11.

The people have been following God’s command to cover the whole Earth with people. That is, until they stopped following God’s command to do that. A group of people got together and decided it would be fun to stay in one place and not go any farther. They decided to build a tower to recognize their great achievement. But the problem was, they were refusing to obey the command that God had given them. As a result, God came down, saw what they were doing, and realized he was going to have to intervene to get them back on track.

Sometimes the new beginnings we experience are a result of God imposing himself on our situation. If we get off track or fail to follow through on the commands that God has given us, God has every right to get us back on track. Here we see that God’s will was accomplished and the people did scatter through the rest of the Earth. But they only did so because God intervened.

Never have any doubt that God is going to accomplish his will. It might not be exactly the way we expect, but it will happen. The question will be, are we being obedient to him through that process? How can we better understand God’s will and follow through on making sure that we are accomplishing his will today?
