Christian Devotional – September 17, 2013

VERSE:

Exodus 7:23–Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart.

TRUTH:

God brought about the first plague on the Egyptians, yet Pharaoh didn’t listen or even act like he cared. He hardened his heart, just like God said he would, but even more than that, he took a “whatever” attitude toward the situation. His apathy about the movement of God was the most difficult stance that he could take. Do we look at all that God does with a sense of excitement and wonder, or are we apathetic and don’t care? God will bring about His work and we must take His actions to heart.

RESPONSE:

Father, help me to stay interested and excited about what You are doing. I pray You will keep my heart soft and allow me to listen and respond to all that You are doing in my life.
