ADHD Gospel, Day 32

In mind. Read Mark 8:31-33.
Jesus has been teaching his disciples and he’s doing incredible and miraculous things, and he even goes so far as to tell them what’s coming and all of the pain and the suffering that he’s going to go through. Instead of receiving the sympathy or the compassion that he would have liked to receive from his disciples, he has one of them pull him aside and tell him how wrong he is and that he doesn’t know where he’s talking about. Jesus uses that moment to go back to Peter and tell him he does not have the things of God in mind.
What does it mean to have the things of God in mind. When we think about all of the thoughts that float through our mind over the course of a day, what types of things do we have in our mind? Are we thinking through information from the Bible? Are we thinking about how God is moving snd working in things? Are we praying and seeking his will in our life? Or, are our minds consumed with wondering what other people think of us? Wondering how we can get ahead in life? Wondering how we can gain more power, more money, more position?
What types of things are in our minds? Jesus got onto Peter for not having the things of God in mind and yet how often would he need to get onto us for not having the things of God in mind? Where do you and I need to focus our thoughts for today so that we can keep the things in God forefront in our minds.
