Read 2 Kings chapter 15

VERSE:

2 Kings 15:34–He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done.

TRUTH:

This judgment of a person’s life accompanies almost every person that is mentioned throughout 2 Kings. In each case, the leader of the country is measured up to God and either found to be doing what was right or what was wrong in the eyes of the Lord. This is the greatest measure that we sill have today to be able to see where we stand. If we are measuring ourselves up to other people, then we will never truly see how we are doing. Only when we measure up to God’s standard and view ourselves through His eyes, do we see our constant and continuous need for Him. Which phrase would be used to describe our life? Do we focus on what is right or what is wrong in the eyes of the Lord?

RESPONSE:

Father, I love You and I desire to honor You in everything. Because of that, I will seek to do what is right in Your eyes. I know that I fail and I know that it is only through You and Your strength that I am able to move forward, but I thank You for helping me to show You that I love You today through my obedience to You.
