Christian Devotional – September 7, 2016

Read 2 Kings chapter 18

VERSE:

2 Kings 18:35–Who of all the gods of these countries has been able to save his land from me? How then can the Lord deliver Jerusalem from my land?

TRUTH:

“Your god can’t do that!!” Many of us have either heard these words or have thought them to ourselves when faced with seemingly insurmountable circumstance. Often, we’ve heard from people who have watched other people who have crumbled and fell when they were faced with difficult life circumstances. However, we must always remember that God is the God over everything and that He is not to be compared with any other God. When people underestimate God, it just give Him that much more of an opportunity to display His glory and show them that He is truly the only One worthy to be called God. Will we trust Him to deliver His promises in every situation?

RESPONSE:

Father, I praise You and I thank You for all that You have done. You are truly the One true God and the only One worthy of any praise. Keep me focused on who You are and not the situations around me today, for I know that You can easily overcome them all.
