VERSE:
Job 10:2–“I will say to God, ‘Do not condemn me. Let me know why You contend with me.'”
TRUTH:
When we experience difficulties, the question “why” is one of the most common questions to ask. “Why is this happening to me?” “Why are You allowing this?” We often assume that God has some rational, logical purpose that if we were just aware of would make it easier to endure. However, God often does not reveal the “why” for the situations we go through. There can be several reasons, but one reason is that we are to take comfort, not in knowing the “why,” but in the “Who,” God Himself.
RESPONSE:
God, I want to know why, but often You want me to just rest in You and trust You are in control. I will stop seeking security and comfort in knowing the “why” and will seek those in You alone.
