Read Proverbs chapter 22 VERSE: Proverbs 22:9–The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor. TRUTH: Do we have a generous spirit? Do we seek for ways to be able to give? The Lord indicates that when people are generous, its not just the person who receives who is blessed, it is also the person who gives who is blessed. VERSE: 1 Chronicles 29:9–The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly. TRUTH: The leaders set the example for the people and the people want to see that their leaders have integrity and generosity. In this case, the leaders, including king David, gave a huge amount of gold and silver to the building of the temple. The obedience of the leaders caused the people to praise God.
