Christian Devotional – August 10, 2016

Read 1 Kings chapter 17

VERSE:

1 Kings 17:24–Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth.”

TRUTH:

You never know what interaction that you have with people that is going to result in their seeing God through us. This woman had been the recipient of miraculous flour and oil for quite some time at this point and she was only still alive with food to eat because of God’s provision through her to Elijah. Yet, it wasn’t until God used Elijah to bring her son back to life that she was truly convinced that God is God and that He is truth. What will it take for us to be convinced? What will it take for our friends to be convinced?

RESPONSE:

Father, I know that You know exactly what people need to see, hear, and understand in order to make a decision for You. I pray that You will use me to bring that about in their lives so that they will know who You are and what You have done for them and want to continue to do in their lives.
