I stink at waiting. I really do want what I want when I want it. The idea that I may have that wait just seems like purposeless time wasting. But then I read Psalm 130.

I wait for the Lord , my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.
Psalms 130:5 NASB

The psalmist talks about waiting for the Lord. But not an inactive waiting. While waiting there is to be hope that happens. Waiting can be focused on understanding God better and recognizing how he moves better. There is hope in the waiting. If we are not willing to wait, we do not understand what hope is really about. There’s no need to hope when you already have what you want. Do we understand what it means to hope in the Lord, knowing that we will have to wait for him?
