Journey Through Ephesians, #28

On guard. The world isn’t difficult and crazy place. We must be on guard and ready for all the attacks that will be coming at us. Read Ephesians 6:13-17.

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth , and having put on the breastplate of righteousness , and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace ; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation , and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Paul gives us the defenses that we need for every area of our life. Paul lists every area of defense that we need to be able to put on in our life. It’s important to remember that all these pieces work together so that we can be fully ready to withstand any attack that comes our way. These are given for our protection and to help us with our purpose.

We will not be effective if we are not prepared. If we forget or leave off even just one piece, our armor is not complete and we are left vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy. Do we take the time each day to ensure that our armor is complete and that we are ready for all that the enemy may bring our way?
