Journey Through Ephesians, #29

Do we pray for opportunities to share the gospel? Do we pray to be able to share boldly? Paul did. Read Ephesians 6:18-20.

With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Paul was in chains and he was limited in where he could go, but he was constantly praying that God would bring people to him and that when He did, Paul would be ready to share and would have the boldness to do so.

Do we pray for the same thing? I mean really. Sure, we tell God that we want to witness and share, but then we shy away from every opportunity with all the excuses in the book. If we pray for boldness and if we pray that God will bring people, he will give us both boldness and people. Are we willing to pray for that? Are we willing to be obedient to what we have prayed for?
