Leading Through Challenging Circumstances, Day 27

Sharing the Truth. Read Daniel 4:20-25.

If you’ve ever thought it was difficult to deliver bad news, you should think about what Daniel experienced having to share this message with the king. The king was one of the most powerful people in this entire part of the world at this point. And Daniel has to tell him the message that God is going to humble him and make him lose his mind to the place where he would be living in the fields and eating grass.

I appreciate the difficulty and challenge that Daniel faced through this. Sharing bad news is never easy, but Daniel doesn’t change up anything. He gives the king exactly the message that God intended the king to receive. Even when the news is difficult, are we committed to sharing the truth? Are we open to hearing the truth ourselves, even though the truth can be painful? It isn’t always what we want to hear, but being able to understand where and how God is moving in our lives and how we can be part of that puts us in the best position possible. We can only do that if we are open to the truth.
