Christian Devotional – August 5, 2014

Read 1 John chapter 5

VERSE:

1 John 5:14-15–This is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears. And if we know that he hears us–whatever we ask–we know that we have what we asked of him.

TRUTH:

When we pray, are we seeking God and His perfect will for our lives? We can be assured that He hears us. Even more than that, He gives us the assurance that He will provide what we ask according to His will. When we pray, are we praying for God’s perfect will to be done? Do we seek after His will in ever area of our lives? Then, once we have lifted up His will in prayer, do we have that blessed assurance that God will do what we have asked through His will?

RESPONSE:

Father, I will seek to pray for what is in Your will in each and every situation. I know that I can trust You to do all that You have promised. I will rest on You and Your promises knowing that since I have lifted Your will up to You in prayer, You will see it done.
