Christian Devotional – August 22, 2012

VERSE:
Isaiah 61:1–The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners.

TRUTH:
Good news to the afflicted! Liberty to Prisoners! Jesus came to set us free from all that ensnares and binds us. We are to proclaim that freedom to people. We have freedom! We have victory! Are we declaring that message of hope to a world in need?

RESPONSE:
Lord, You have given us a purpose. We are to declare Your purpose. You have provided victory to all and they need to know it so they can experience it. Use me by Your Spirit to declare the good news to the afflicted.
