Christian Devotional – April 27, 2018

Are you riding an emotional rollercoaster? One day you’re up and the next you’re down? Happiness followed by sadness followed by something else. It’s exhausting to live that way. David shares a secret in Psalm 57.

A steadfast heart is the secret to making it through each day with our eyes focused on God. Our heart’s desire is to feel comfortable and safe and loved. The situations that we go through can create anxiety for each of us and as a result our heart starts to worry about what is going to happen next, how are we going to react, is there any danger to us. Yet if we keep our heart focused on God, we will be able to maintain the emotional consistency that we need to successfully praise God through every circumstance.
