Christian Devotional – August 8, 2018

How much do you love God’s Word? For the psalmist, it was so much that the longest book of the Bible is dedicated to God’s Word. Read Psalm 119.

I know, O Lord , that Your judgments are righteous, And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.

While there are many verses throughout this chapter that are challenging and amazing, this one stuck out to me today. God is righteous and his judgments are righteous. God knows when we need a gentle nudge back into the right path, and he knows we may need a hard shove back into the right path. God desires to see us grow in his holiness and righteousness and that’s only possible if he corrects us when we mess up. Are we open to the correction of God? Are we looking for the correction of God so that we can be made more like him every day?
