Christian Devotional – May 1, 2019

Do we pray for others? As people who follow Jesus Christ, we have a responsibility to be bringing others to Jesus Christ through prayer. Not just praying for the people we like, but praying for all people. Read 1 Timothy 2:1-2.

First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

How do we find peace and tranquility? We find that through praying for other people. As we spend our time devoted to praying for people, we see God move and work in not only their life, but also in our own life as well. Praying for people gives us a unique opportunity to lift them up and to empathize with them in a way that we might not otherwise do. We should be praying for everyone, from those who are in authority and leadership positions to those who are destitute.

Do we lack tranquility and peace in our life? If so, we should examine whether or not we are praying for people.
