Bigger Than Me, Day 6
How do we show God we love him? As we conclude the Bigger Than Me reading plan plan in YouVersion.com, we find ourselves in Matthew 22:37-39.
We are to love God. God commands it and indicates to us the importance of our demonstrating our love for him. This is a building block of our relationship with him. However, how do we demonstrate that? How do you actually show God that you love him? God answers this in these verses by indicating that the second area to show love. We can demonstrate our love for God through the way in which we treat those we are around. We can seek to know more about God,to pray to God, but our activity of love would be seen in the way in which we demonstrate that relationship to those we are around.
How do we show our neighbors that we love them? How are we focused on caring for them, praying for them, sharing with them? So many ways can be explored to do this, but the important piece is that we do it. Earlier this year, I found an app called Bless This House, this allowed me to get to know, share with, and care for my neighbors that live right around me. I have the opportunity to pray for them every single day. This app has helped me refocus on those people that live right near me and challenged me to live out this very verse.
So I offer this challenge to you as we end this year, how do you love God? What do you do to demonstrate your love to him? Find some tangible ways that you can challenge yourself to demonstrate your love to God and your neighbor more in 2022. How does doing this demonstrate your love for God? Let me know your plans in the comments so I can be praying for you and please be praying for me as I continue this plan in the coming year.

Kristi,
I cannot tell you now how many years I’ve followed your devotional blog. But I am always glad to see it in my inbox! As for praying for neighbors, I live in a condo community and each day pray for the residents in my own building as well as the community as a whole and that the Lord guide, counsel, and inspire our property managers and HOA board. In addition, I’m an event coordinator for a university and pray for each client and event as they come up.
Thank you for keeping on keeping on! Happy New Year!
