The Message – #14

God is God. As we continue reading in Isaiah chapter 14, we see that God’s judgment will be swift and complete on those who have taken a position of pride and arrogance against God. Our focus is on verse 27.

For the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back?”
Isaiah 14:27 NASB

This verse is referring to God’s judgment. He has it planned and there is no one who can stand in the way of God judging sin. As we saw yesterday, God is holy and cannot tolerate sin. The only response that changes anything is repentance. Otherwise, no one can talk God out of judgment of sins. There can be delays, but ultimately God is going to judge sin.

Out life here on earth is an opportunity to repent. God allows us each day as an opportunity to turn to Him in repentance. Only upon our death are we out of time and our decision made. Everything that happens while we still live is God trying to get our attention to cause us to repent because He knows that a point is coming when it will be too late and we will face His judgment.

The question is, will we face His judgment alone or will we face it as one who has accepted Christ’s sacrifice to cover our sin. How will you stand before God’s judgment? Will you be alone, or with Christ?
