Christian Devotional – April 28, 2019

We are an example. What God has done in our lives is to be used as an example. Read 1 Timothy 1:16.

Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

Yesterday, we read how the grace of God has been provided for us and that God’s purpose was to bring salvation to us. Today, we see that we are an example of how much God loves us and what his mercy can do in and through our lives. God saves us and as we allow him to do so, other people around us see the change and the difference in our lives.

Through Christ, we go from being sinful, unholy people, to being people who are seeking after what God wants. The work that God does in and through us is an example to everyone around us of how God can change a life. We are an example to others, not based on all the good things that we do, but on all the horrible sinful things that we have been saved from.

Never assume that God wants to brag on our good deeds. God brags on his amazing deeds done through us knowing what little he has to work with. Are we willing to allow God to use us as an example of his glory and greatness through our complete lack?
