Christian Devotional – April 28, 2016
VERSE:
Acts 26:29–Paul replied, “Short time or long–I pray to God that not only you, but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.”
TRUTH:
Paul is giving his testimony to the political leaders of the area, King Agrippa and Festus. He shares his entire story of his life before Christ, how he met Christ, and what his life has been like since having Christ in it. This is all our testimony is. When we have experience Christ in our lives, we can explain to others what our life before Christ was like, how we met Christ and what Christ has done in our life since. Then Paul makes this statement. We should long for all people to hear our story and make a decision for Christ. Some people will receive in a very short time and others will take a long time to hear and understand the truth. Either way, we should be praying for them all, just as Paul was.
RESPONSE:
Father, I want to thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ and for Your grace and mercy to offer salvation to me, a sinner. I pray that You will give me boldness to share what You have done in my life with others and that You will give me tenacity to pray relentlessly for those who need to receive You.
