The Message – #21

Judgment has come. For Babylon, the people have been serving and worshipping other gods for so long that God is now telling Isaiah that they are going to be judged and will fall. Reading chapter 21 of Isaiah we see this, especially as we focus on verse 9.

“Now behold, here comes a troop of riders, horsemen in pairs.” And one said, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon; And all the images of her gods are shattered on the ground.”
Isaiah 21:9 NASB

God is the one who causes the destruction of Babylon. The watchman sees that there is destruction. He sees the people that will fall because they do not follow what God is commanding.

When does God say enough is enough? For so much of the Bible we see God moving in a way to bring people closer to Him. But, God is holy, so there is always a balance between the love and mercy of God with His holiness. God is holy. Are we just focused only on the love and mercy of God without recognizing his Holiness? If so, we are missing an aspect of the character of God.

Are we seeking to be holy as God is holy? Only through Him can we do that, and as we surrender to Him more every day, we see more what His holiness looks like in our life.
