Christian Devotional – August 16, 2016

Read 1 King chapter 21

VERSE:

1 Kings 21:15–As soon as Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned to death, she said to Ahab, “Get up, and take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jebusite that he refused to sell you. He is no longer alive, but dead.”

TRUTH:

Ahab wanted a vineyard, but Naboth didn’t want to sell. So Jezebel decided to fix the problem. She simply had Naboth killed, then Ahab was free to take over the place. When we face difficulties, we can choose to wait on God to bring about the opportunities that He has for us, or we can rush ahead and choose our own options, which will always fall short of what God has for us. Will we wait of God to bring solutions to our problems or will we rush ahead and make our own plans.

RESPONSE:

Father, Help me to be patient and to seek You in my difficulties and when things don’t go my way. I will always seek to place You first in every area.
