Christian Devotional – August 19, 2012

VERSE:
Isaiah 58:13-14a–“If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot from doing your own pleasure on My holy day, and call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, and honor it, desisting from your own ways, from seeking your own pleasure and speaking your own word, then you will take delight in the Lord.”

TRUTH:
The Lord’s holy day is to be treated with respect and reverence. We are to honor it and to treat it as special. We put away our desires and selfishness and then we will take delight in the Lord.

RESPONSE:
Father, I will delight in You this day. Because of Your Son Jesus, every day is special and a chance to fellowship with You. I praise You for Your glory and help me make this day all about You.
